The workshop participants range in age from 22 to 57 and come from institutions throughout the Philippine Islands. They were divided into seven study groups whose members sit together in the lecture room. Each study group caucuses to determine what the members did not understand from the lectures, devises questions to ask during the discussions, and solves the problem sets together.
